SEARCH COMMITTEE INVITES APPLICATIONS FOR THE POST OF VICE-CHANCELLOR.
The Yashwantrao Chavan Maharashtra Open University (YCMOU) was established on 1st July 1989 at Nashik. The jurisdiction of the University is spread over Maharashtra State. The YCMOU, through its various educational programmes, applications of modern communication technologies and adoption of the distance education methodology strives towards developing an innovative, flexible and open system of education with the ultimate goal of becoming ‘Mass University’.
The University is offering about 102 programmes through its 1806 study centres located all over the State. The University has 8 regional centres to provide academic and administrative support to learners in the region. About 6 to 7 lakh students are enrolled every year for various programmes. The University has 8 academic schools, 6 divisions and 5 centres. The University is listed among the mega Open Universities in the World.
The University has received Award of Excellence for institutional achievement in distance learning from the Commonwealth of Learning, Canada. The University has made various national and state level collaborations in the field of open and distance education.
The Chancellor (Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra) has formed the three member Search committee for recommending suitable names for the post of Vice-Chancellor. The Search Committee comprises -

3) Shri Sitaram Kunte,
Principal Secretary to the Government of Maharashtra,
Higher & Technical Education Department,
The Search Committee now invites nominations/ applications from eminent academicians who fulfil the qualifications’ and experience prescribed for the post of Vice-Chancellor as per the State Government Order dated 11th June 2009 and who are willing to take up the assignment. All the necessary details regarding essential qualifications and experience, desirable experience and skills and competencies and the format for the applicatios are given on YCMOU, Nashik. Interested individuals shall submit a detailed resume in the format along with a two page justification for his / her candidature, a two page vision statement for the University and the names /contact details of three distinguished individuals well acquainted with his / her work. Institutions may also nominate suitable candidates.
Nominations / applications shall be sent in a word format by email to Nodal Officer as well as four hard copies of the aforesaid application shall reach the Nodal Officer not later than 6th January 2017. Applications received after 6th January 2017 shall not be entertained.
Any attempt by an applicant to influence or contact the Chairman or the members of the committee shall be treated as a disqualification for the candidate.
